Issues with Calibration

Troubleshoot issues calibrating your Users.

Things to keep in mind:

Baggy clothing around the ankles and the knees of the user can cause issues with tracking the legs of the user.
Reflective and elastic clothing can make it difficult to properly capture and track the users' limbs, causing the avatar to act sporadically
Flooring with high shine can make it difficult for the camera to locate the floor and also cause issues tracking the user in the play area.

Calibration Positioning Messages:

When calibrating for all activities, there will be messages displayed at the bottom center of the screen. The messages will guide the User on where to move to center themselves in the playfield, or how to take the proper stance for the Balance Activities.

How to Troubleshoot Calibration Issues:
  • The three-second calibration counter keeps restarting and will not complete the calibration for the User.
    1. Exit the Activity and try running the Activity again.
    2. Ensure no other person is near the User attempting to calibrate.
    3. Check clothing - baggy clothing around the ankles can make it difficult for the camera to detect parts of the body.
  • After calibration, the avatar limbs act sporadically or do not match the User's stance.
    1. This could be due to reflective clothing, or in some rare cases, spandex.
    2. Ensure the camera has a clear view of the field and there are no other objects or obstacles in the line of sight of the camera.
    3. Reflective flooring and intense lighting can also make it difficult to accurately track a User.
  • When beginning an Activity the calibration messages only display searching and does not attempt to calibrate the User.
    1. Exit then restart the Activity and attempt to calibrate again.
    2. If the Activity will still not attempt to calibrate, restart the TRAZER Unit and attempt calibration again.
